Doing things differently

Hello my lovely,

How are you? I hope you are well.

I used to get really upset when people did things differently to me. I would question myself. I would worry I was doing it wrong. I would doubt myself. Especially when it came to my children. I was a young single mum and I felt that all eyes were on me if I made a mistake.

I would put so much pressure on myself. I would do things I wasn't happy with because it was the social norm and what the older married mums were doing. It made me miserable. It made my children miserable. So I stopped.

We didn't do the things we didn't want to do because it was expected. We said no! If it worked for us then that was all that mattered.

I also know mums who get upset when the other parent parents differently to them. They genuinely believe they are parenting wrong. This can cause arguments, tension and stress. They do bedtime wrong, they get the wrong clothes ready, they do things in the wrong order.

No, they don't. They do things differently!

It is important to remember that different does not mean wrong!!!!

DIFFERENT DOES NOT MEAN WRONG!

Lots of love
